The Kind of Love That Lasts

Once upon a time in our life everything seemed so normal, living each day just as how we spend it a day before, doing the same things and simply being happy for what we have, for the simple things we received, and still dreaming for the same wish we think could make our life amazing, idealistic or a perfect fairy-tale like story. But then not everything in life would turn out the way we wanted it to be, and that is the start of our own real journey.
When we were young, we set up our own fairy tale, relating each details as if they are connected to finding “Knight in Shining Armor”, “Prince Charming” or perhaps “Mr. Right” ; watching movies, reading stories and being hopelessly romantic about it, then we wonder what would our story be like? Eventually, we arrived at having crushes, the day-to-day teasing, simple fights, jealousies, and then uncontrollably, unexpectedly, unnoticeably LOVE would arrive!

It makes us wake up in the morning with a smile, give us the kind of feeling as if we can fly, makes us laugh even if the joke isn’t funny at all, it makes us nice to everybody and respond to their every call. It makes us do the things we don’t usually do like doing homework, cleaning up the house, reading notes and books and that we do with a good and happy mood. It makes us dance our hearts out, and sing a song with a voice so loud. We become hyper almost all the time, as if we are bursting with happiness and everything is full of sunshine. It makes us stay up all night, and makes us jump, scream, and suddenly become a gymnast because our hearts are flattered. We, all of a sudden, think or maybe we really became a better person because of love until the day when our hearts are shattered.
Challenges will come, piles of emotions will be built, there are crying nights and even days, insecurities and low esteem, emptiness and loneliness, a broken heart and a messed up situation, and at some point we call it a messed up life.
It may be miserable but that doesn’t end there. It’s just one phase in our life. Focus on the good things and keep the faith. Don’t drag yourself to being happy let it take it’s wonderful time to slowly heal everything so that when love arrives again we are now ready. Who knows if it is the right one or not? But maybe it’s the one who would make it all worthwhile, the one sent, destined, and willed by God, more than that which we wish we had, and maybe just maybe it’s the kind of love that lasts.
